WHAT HAPPENED IN 2017?

The sun was shining down at the start of yet another great day at Hillside Golf Club on Thursday 6th July for the Annual Mark Cueto Pro-Am Charity Golf Classic.

17 teams enjoyed a warm welcome at Hillside by LABGC staff, host Mark Cueto MBE and Andy Duncan Secretary PGA Lancashire.

Brunch was served and players practiced their putting before a shotgun start at 12 noon. The wet weather held off and the sun continued to shine on the fairways making for a fabulous day on the course.

Following the golf, all teams attended a fantastic 4 course presentation dinner and auction hosted by England & Sale Sharks rugby star Mark Cueto MBE in the newly refurbished dining room.

Just over £8,000 was raised thanks to the generous support of all the teams, sponsors and prize donors.

Whilst preparing for next year’s event we continue to look for companies interested in becoming the events Main Sponsor.

If you would be interested or know anyone who might be, please contact Lancashire Association of Boys & Girls Clubs where we will be more than happy to discuss options:

Hillside Golf Club ranks 17th out of 1,900* golf clubs across England - a prestigious course by any stretch of the imagination.

Situated in Southport, the home of ‘England’s Golf Coast’, the course forms part of England's finest stretch of coastal links, being a stone’s throw from Royal Birkdale and Southport & Ainsdale with Formby Golf Club just a few miles down the road. A true championship links, Hillside is proud to have been chosen to host Open Championship Final Qualifying each year from 2014, together with a superb track record in hosting the worlds major amateur events.

From the white tees, the course at Hillside measures just over 7,000 yards meandering through sandhills and tranquil pinewoods. From the blue tees, the course is a more manageable 6,558 yards. Many of the holes have elevated tees with fantastic views over the Irish Sea.

"The back nine are the best in Britain" – Greg Norman
